Tha Work Thang #12 : GHOULS!!!!

A selection of Ghoulish delights for you today. These flesh eating fiends were all done for Wizards of the Coast for Dungeons and Dragons 4th Edition. Above are some Plaguetouched ghouls emerging from the ruins of Starmantle.
Next up are two images from the Monster Manual, a standard ghoul and his nastier kin, an abyssal ghoul.

Lastly, we have some concept drawings for the ghoul and a miniature turnaround for the Ravenous Ghoul from the D&D miniatures range.

All images are © 2009 Wizards of the Coast LLC.

  1. Those are some pretty cool Ghouls there David.
    Loving your Art blog!

  2. Thanks ATOM! Glad you are following.

  3. It was a treat looking at your posts. I'm surprised more people had not been following your blog. The advertising has helped. You artwork & style of composition definately strikes a chord.
Impressive stuff, the D&D mini blueprint art is wonderful.Do you pencil sketch your lineart first,
    or just create it digitally?

  4. I haven't promoted it much yet, thought I should build up a bit of content first, but I shall pimp it in a few more places now!
I really enjoy doing the mini designs, they are purely pencil, I have quite a bold pencil style, high contrast. I just scan them into photoshop and adjust contrast and brightness a little higher.

  5. I was thinking they looked like traditional media. Very well done, looking forward to more arty goodness David.

  6. Nice work man!
    I really like your ghouls!
